Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Teesside 15th visit to IFTC

19 Jul 2017

Yesterday we welcomed the 15th Chernobyl visit to IFTC from the charity Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Teesside.

The group consisted of 10 girls and 8 boys and ranged from 8 to 10 years of age, who arrived in the UK nearly two weeks ago with not much more than the clothes that they were wearing.

The charity itself raises thousands of pounds each year in order to provide the 4 week recuperative break for the children. Local businesses also provide help and support during their stay in the form of much needed dentistry work, optician appointments and glasses, donated food and clothing; they return home with 30 kg of clothing, and fun days out for the children.

The children enjoyed a trip to the fire ground, a live fire scenario, rides in the fire engine, BBQ and a visit from Jay the animal man before heading off to their host families with goodie bag in tow. A big thank you to all IFTC, the DTV guys and Jay for making the visit a success.
