New courses for the JOIFF 3 day firefighter course

This course provides the knowledge, understanding and practical skills in maintaining a state of readiness to respond to emergency situations involving fire, fighting and extinguishing a variety of fires which can occur, casualty rescue and undertaking operations requiring the use of self-contained breathing apparatus
Competences and Skills Required
Learners must be physically fit to participate in all aspects of the training.
This course is designed to meet the initial training requirements for the above course as identified in the JOIFF Guidelines.
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes are:
  1. Utilize best working practices and procedures.
  2. Search and rescue - Casualty handling
  3. Selection and use of portable fire equipment including foam making branches and in-line inductors
  4. Conducting and controlling breathing apparatus operations
  5. Maintaining communications
  6. Preparation to enter the incident area
  7. Gaining access to the incident area
  8. Practise techniques employed in fire-fighting operations
Assessment by direct observation of simulations or practical exercises.
Certification & Accreditation
On successful completion of the training, delegates will receive a JOIFF Certificate of Competence
