Can anyone attend a course?

Some of our courses do have pre-attendance requirements.  To find out if the course you are interested in does please go to the Courses page, locate the course you are interested in and select view course.  This will then open a page giving details of the course including any pre-attendance requirements.


What does 'pre-course' work involve?

A number of our training courses involve an element of pre-course work.  There are various checks at key stages along the way to confirm your understanding and to ensure you are able to participate fully during the practical element of the course whilst at the Centre.

Can I access the internet at the Centre?

The Centre building is wi-fi enabled and you will not incur any charges for using the internet.  Instructions on how to connect are available in the Your Stay section of this website.

What type of PPE clothing is required?

Delegates issued with uniform and protective clothing (certified to the current edition of the relevant standard) during their normal employment will be required to bring this with them:


  • Helmet with full face protection
  • Fire tunic and over trousers
  • Fire boots
  • Fire gloves
  • Fire hood
  • Suitable clothing is required for wearing under PPE i.e. cotton overalls

PPE will be available for loan only to delegates travelling by air.  Please note that any equipment borrowed from IFTC must be returned complete and in good repair.


All delegates are advised to bring some working rig clothing; personal protective equipment will be provided where appropriate.


Non Fire Service delegates attending courses with a practical element (e.g. Cabin Crew Trainer) will be provided with appropriate PPE.


All PPE should be returned complete and in good condition; any loss or damage will be charged for.
