As well as training around 10,000 delegates per year, we are committed to helping you with the Fire Safety Strategy of your organisation. Through our links with delegates from the public and private sectors and local authority fire inspectors we fully appreciate the Fire Safety Management issues that you are facing. We can help you develop your strategy, be it through Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Training or friendly advice over the phone. We have a dedicated Fire Safety Co-ordinator who is available to give general fire safety advice and help you formulate a Fire Safety Management Plan for your organisation.
By choosing Serco you have the peace of mind that your fire risk management has been carried out by a FTSE 100 company which makes us quite unique amongst our competitors. That said the enhanced assurances you get from Serco does not mean that you have to pay the earth for your assessment or audit. Our pricing model makes us extremely competitive and we regularly find that our clients are pleasantly surprised at how cost effective our services are. You should also note that:-
-
All our assessors and auditors have a minimum of 15 years fire service experience or equivalent and are deemed ‘competent’ as required by law.
-
Listed are some of the professional organisations that our assessors are members of: Institution of Fire Engineers, Institute of Fire Safety Managers, Institute of Fire Prevention Officers, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
-
All our assessments are backed up by Professional Indemnity cover for a minimum of £5,000,000 and substantially more if requested.
-
We are totally independent and not in the business of selling fire alarm systems or fire extinguishers. This means that our advice and recommendations are relevant and totally impartial.
-
We provide a free help and advice line for as long as the fire risk assessment or audit carried out is current, which is normally 12 months. This means that if there are any areas of the assessment or audit you are not sure about we will work through it with you until you are totally satisfied.
We can help you with:
Fire risk assessments
We can conduct comprehensive assessments specifically designed to match the size of premises identifying life safety fire risks and meeting the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Our assessment strategies range from a small premise such as an office or small shop to a whole site such as a University Campus or NHS Trust. We can also review a previous assessment which has been carried out by us to ensure that any recommendations have been carried out correctly and the existing fire safety arrangements are still current.
Fire safety audits
We can conduct an independent and impartial audit on your existing fire precautions. Our generic report format has been specifically designed after consultation with Local Authority Fire Inspectors. Complete client confidentiality is ensured.
Fire containment
We also specialises in fire containment and passive fire protection where we will provide a quality and cost effective service. We offer a range of services tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. Be confident that should a fire start in your premise it will be contained to a compartment limiting the fire damage and ensuring your staff and clients/customers escape safely. This is especially relevant where phased evacuation is part of the organisations Fire Safety Management Plan or where sleeping accommodation is provided.
