General Information

Photographic ID

It is essential that you remember to bring photo ID with you.  Acceptable forms of ID include:-

This ID will be required to gain access to our fireground via a live airfield in compliance with Department For Transport regulations.


Upon arrival please report to reception where you will be issued with your room key.  Those delegates who will arrive on the day before course commencement can reserve an evening meal by contacting the Hospitality Department on 01325 331115 ( one week before course commencement.  Meals are served until 17.45pm.

Special Learning/Dietary Requirements

If you have any special learning or dietary requirements, please contact the Bookings Office on +44 (0)1325 333317 prior to arrival or speak to your instructor on the first day of the course.  Any information you may choose to divulge will be treated in the strictest confidence and every effort will be made to assist you in any way possible.

Access to Buildings

All buildings are secured with pin code locks.



Limited parking facilities are available the code number for the car parking compound will be issued with room keys.  Please ensure the gate is secure when leaving the car park. Parking is prohibited at the front of the Accommodation Building or at the Technical Block.  Parking of private vehicles is at owner’s risk.

Registration on first day of course

Please report to reception in the Accommodation Building on your first day prior to your course start time to register.  Note you will be required to produce official identification.  Please wait at Accommodation Building to be collected by your Course Tutor.


All rooms must be vacated by 10.00 hrs on the day of departure, keys are to be handed into Reception.  A secure luggage store is available, please ask at Reception.  NB Luggage is left at your own risk.

If you have arranged accommodation after the final day of your course you may, during busy periods, be asked to move to another room.


Rooms are equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, alarm clocks and the vast majority freeview TV. 


The centre provides a small convenience shop with limited opening hours, as well as vending machines containing snacks and beverages.

Wifi and Internet Access

Computer Suites

Computers are available for preparing personal presentations, accessing/sending web based e-mail and accessing the internet.
You can find the suite in the Accommodation Block – Located on the east wing ground floor next to the fitness room.
The creation, accessing, viewing, downloading, transferring, printing and/or disseminating of offensive material is expressly forbidden and for this reason internet use is monitored at all times. Any breach of this policy will result in exclusion from the centre and your course.


Laundry facilities are provided for personal use in the utility rooms on the ground floor of each wing of the accommodation building.  For safety reasons please do not use irons in the bedrooms.  A laundry service for shirts is available from Monday to Thursday at a small charge, payable in advance.  Should you require this service please see your Residential Services Assistant.



A safe is available for the storage of valuables.  This is located in the Course Bookings Office and can be accessed during normal office hours.

Your post will be given to you by your instructor.

Outgoing mail is collected daily at 15.30 hrs from Technology House.  Letters can be handed in to the General Office in Technology House or left in the post tray on the reception desk.
